Local favourite Porteño has once again put Sydney, and Surry Hills, on the global food map, with the iconic Holt St restaurant ranked #20 in the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants list for 2025/2026 - continuing a long run of international acclaim for the fire-driven institution.

Known for its unmistakable Argentinian-style asado cooking, Porteño has built its reputation on simplicity done exceptionally well: premium cuts of beef, dry-aged to perfection and cooked over an open parrilla grill.

While the latest ranking has again drawn international attention, it’s far from the restaurant’s first moment on the global stage. Porteño has consistently featured on prestigious international lists celebrating the world’s leading steak destinations, reinforcing its status as one of Australia’s most respected dining experiences.
