The Canopy, Hub for Lane Cove Village

Recreation, Innovation, Contemplation

The Canopy has its grand opening set for October but it is already establishing itself as the hub and soul of Lane Cove village.

It’s hard to imagine that the multi-level, functional and aesthetically pleasing precinct that is The Canopy was once an unattractive and inefficient carpark. The designers have made optimal use of the physical space, thinking not only outside the box but above and below it. The result is a showpiece of urban architecture that has the charm and ambience of a town square.

The Canopy For Kids and Adults

There is literally something for everyone here. The kid’s playground features equipment that will exercise little muscles as well as little brains. It’s surrounded by gardens and has an open, natural feel. Adjacent to it is the lawn area, where young legs can run free while older legs stretch out under the sun and enjoy the sights and sounds from the high-tech stage and screen.

Eat Street will tend to the taste buds while the below-decks supermarkets and carpark will make shopping a pleasure.

Take a walk along the Solar Arbour, a promenade lined with unique printed solar panels. It is the only public place in Australia to date where you can see this breakthrough technology.

With outdoor markets, entertainment and more planned, The Canopy will be the epicentre of life in Lane Cove.
