Cats own the internet, it’s an indisputable fact. Cat videos are the currency of social media and sharing these videos with others is the ultimate expression of love. And while receiving a link in your DMs is always a treat, there is nothing equal to the mutual joy of watching a funny, cute, heartwarming feline-filled film fest with a group of cat worshippers.
Launched in 2019 in the US, CatVideoFest was successful enough to go global almost immediately. It has returned each year since with a new collection of cats doing all the things they do best (and worst). The CatVideoFest has repeatedly proven that watching a reel of cat-astrophic clips is panacea for virtually everything.
CatVideoFest returns to Australian cinemas this August, with a showreel of videos from around the world. It’s a rare and exclusive selection that you will only be able to see in cinemas — it won’t be going online.
And while you’re sitting in a darkened theatre, giggling, nawwing, and OMGing with a room full of cat-lovers, you can feel extra pleased that about the fact that you’re actually helping cats everywhere. CatVideoFest raises more than $1Million USD in contributions for cats in need through partnerships with animal welfare organisations, charities, and shelters around the world, whilst also helping support adoptions, fostering, volunteer sign-ups and community engagement.
