Randwick Meals on Wheels supports residents throughout Randwick, Waverley and parts of Bayside, and while a freshly prepared meal is at the heart of its service, the organisation's impact extends well beyond the dinner table. The service is flexible and can be tailored to individual needs, whether that’s weekly, ongoing support, or occasional/as-needed assistance. The cost is just $5 per shop. Randwick is the only Meals on Wheels currently offering this list shopping service.
Meals On Wheels Eligibility
Eligibility is straightforward. Older Australians aged 65 years and over—or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people—can access the service through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme via My Aged Care. Those receiving Support at Home funding can also choose Randwick Meals on Wheels as their meal provider.
Behind the scenes, an army of dedicated volunteers helps keep the organisation running. From meal preparation and packing to driving delivery routes, these volunteers contribute countless hours each week, helping create a service built on compassion and community spirit. Their visits often become an important part of a client's routine, reducing social isolation while providing peace of mind for family members.
