Join the SPC Christmas Choir!

Have you ever wanted to sing at the Sydney Opera House? Make your Christmas unforgettable and join the Sydney Philharmonia Christmas Choir.

The Sydney Philharmonia Christmas Choir is for everybody over the age of 18 – no matter what your previous singing experience might be, everyone is welcome, from novice to expert. A massed choir of around 600 voices, the Christmas Choir rehearses together and

performs in three concerts during the festival season, Carols at the House on the 12th, 13th and 14th of December, inside the famous Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.

Led by the effervescent Brett Weymark, you will sing with musical theatre stars and a full orchestra in a medley of favourite carols – Joy to the World, Away in a Manger, Silent Night, Jingle Bells – and heart-warming seasonal favourites such as JS Bach’s rousing Magnificat, Eric Whitacre’s Sing Gently and songs including Tim Minchin’s When I Grow Up, Katie Noonan’s All is Love, and a brand new work by Joe Twist composed especially for the ABC Classic Choir.

Previous Christmas Choristers have said it is the most “joyous” and “uplifting” thing they have done. Many return year after year to perform in front of their family and friends at the Sydney Opera House.

If you have never sung before, you are welcome to join and experience the unique benefits of singing beautiful music with others – both mental and physical – as well as making new friends. Perhaps singing will become your new regular activity!

Simply register by Monday 20 October. You will be sent all the music by post and then start the regular weekly rehearsals from 30 October.
