Joey Alexander Trio Live at The Concourse Chatswood 2026
Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Joey Alexander brings his acclaimed trio to The Concourse, Chatswood, on 19 October 2026. Discover the concert details.
At just 23, Joey Alexander has already built the kind of jazz career most musicians spend decades chasing. The Indonesian-born pianist and composer has earned three Grammy Award nominations, released seven acclaimed albums and performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall and The Apollo Theatre to the White House.

His rise began remarkably early: at just 12, when he was invited by Wynton Marsalis to perform at a Jazz at Lincoln Center gala at the White House, alongside Wayne Shorter and Esperanza Spalding.
Now, Sydney audiences have the rare chance to hear him as he arrives on Australian shores for the first time. For any jazz-loving Mosman locals, his gig on October 19th at The Concourse, Chatswood is a no brainer.
Alexander will be joined by bassist Alon Near and drummer Tyson Jackson, performing music shaped by a career that has taken him from his native Indonesia to New York, Baltimore and some of the world’s leading jazz festivals.
His latest album, Celestial Keeper, follows Alexander’s return to Bali last year and marks a more personal chapter in his work, exploring creativity, faith, gratitude, self-doubt and the challenges of finding artistic momentum.
Opening the Sydney concerts is local quartet Zodiac, led by pianist Jordan Chung with Hinano Fujisaki, Sabine Tapia and Manson Luk. Drawing on their Asian Australian experiences, the group brings together jazz, gospel, rock, film scores and improvisation.
