Festival of Mosman Encore 2026

Get ready for six days of music, art, culture and celebration as the Festival of Mosman Encore takes over your neighbourhood.

Presented by Mosman Council, The Festival of Mosman Encore returns this October, from Thursday 22 to Tuesday 27, inviting residents, families and visitors to experience a different side of Mosman. From live music and street celebrations to art, cultural storytelling and family entertainment, Encore has been designed to bring people together and showcase the people, places and creativity that make the area such a vibrant community.

Rather than being confined to a single venue, Encore will unfold across some of Mosman’s most familiar community spaces, opening with The SpringFeast Night Market at The Crescent, Village Green and Mosman Square before moving into a two-day Street Party at Mosman Junction, followed by cultural and creative events at Headland Park and Mosman Art Gallery, and finally a morning dedicated to younger children at Village Green.

The result is Encore that offers plenty of choice, whether your idea of a good afternoon is live music and food, exploring art, getting involved in a workshop, discovering local talent or simply spending time with neighbours.

A celebration of local talent

One of the strongest themes of this year’s program is participation. Encore brings together professional performers and artists with schools, dance groups, community organisations and local businesses.

Mosman Preparatory School has returned as a sponsor, continuing its longstanding support of initiatives that bring the Mosman community together. Local businesses are also part of the celebrations, with The Buena and Four Frogs Crêperie returning to the Street Party alongside other local food vendors.

This local involvement is central to what makes Encore more than a series of performances and entertainment. It’s an important local event that provides a platform for people who live, work, create and operate businesses within Mosman, offering them an opportunity to contribute to the atmosphere and share their talents with the wider community.

The Street Party will put that community spirit front and centre, with local schools, dance groups, choirs and community groups performing across two stages. Mosman Martial Arts Academy will also join the program for the first time this year, adding another local group to the line-up.

Something different every day

Encore program is deliberately varied, with each day offering a new experience for a range of audiences. Thursday’s SpringFeast Night Market launches Encore with an evening of food, markets, music and community atmosphere, while Friday and Saturday shift the focus to the Street Party at Mosman Junction.

Sunday brings a cultural focus with Songs & Stories at Headland Park, followed by Art Unleashed at Mosman Art Gallery on Monday. Encore then concludes on Tuesday morning with the Children’s Fair at Village Green.

For young people, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout the program, from the music and atmosphere of SpringFeast and the Street Party to creative experiences at Art Unleashed and cultural activities at Headland Park.

Families with younger children have their own dedicated finale, with the Children’s Fair designed specifically for children under five. It will bring the Encore to a close with a morning centred on play, imagination and hands-on experiences.

Art, culture and community

While music and entertainment are a major part of Encore, the program also reflects Mosman’s strong connection to art, history, culture and the natural environment.

Songs & Stories at Headland Park, identified by Council as one of the key events in this year’s program, will bring together storytelling, music and art while connecting visitors with the Headland Park Artist Community and its surrounds. Giant River and Fire Spirit puppets will be joined by First Nations artist Walangari’s sandpainting, while open artist studios, workshops and other creative experiences will encourage visitors to explore the precinct in a different way.

The following evening, Art Unleashed transforms the Mosman Art Gallery into a vibrant creative playground where art, music and performance collide in spectacular fashion. Featuring live bands, DJs, projections and hands-on art experiences, capped off with an immersive theatre performance by Curious Legends, unlike anything Mosman has seen before. 

Free for everyone

One of the best parts? The entire six-day program is free. There are no tickets required, making it easy to drop in for an hour, stay for the afternoon or make a full day of it with family and friends.

And while individual events have their own focus, the broader invitation is the same: get out into the neighbourhood, support local businesses and performers, discover something new and spend time with the people who make up the Mosman community.

From the opening night markets through to the final morning at Village Green, Festival of Mosman Encore offers six days to explore, participate and celebrate. For a community celebration, that may be the best part of all - there is no single way to experience it, and plenty of reasons to come back for another day.
